Meet Our Principal

 

 

Dear Community of Barbara Jordan Elementary: 

It is with great honor that I introduce myself as the principal of Dr. Barbara Jordan Elementary School.  I am proud to say that I am a product of Dallas ISD.  First as a student, teacher and now as an administrator.   

My career with Dallas ISD began in 1991 at John Carpenter Elementary.  Thirty years later, I have the wonderful opportunity to serve every student and every stakeholder of Barbara Jordan Elementary. I am eager to collaborate with every one of you so we may provide the highest quality and most equitable education for every child in our community. 

I am equally excited to engage in collaboration to achieve our campus’ priorities, which include, building a positive culture and climate for our students, staff, campus and community; implementing STEAM and writing across grade levels and contents, and building strong relationships with families to strengthen two-way communication.  We will also increase the classroom experience by building close relationships with students through SEL practices and continue to form partnerships with community organizations and businesses. 

Please reach out to me during the summer! I will be sending families and community members a link to a questionnaire to get input on ways we can continue celebrating positive trends and implementing new strategies for revising some of our systems and procedures.  Above all,  we will continue to build on the success of Barbara Jordan Elementary, the place Where Dreams Become Reality and Excellence is Expected.
